Worship is to be the whole of life, a heart surrendered to God (Romans 12v1-2). Within this life of worship certain aspects are central, giving is one of these. We do not give because we have to, but because we get to!

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9v7 esv

Giving is a joy we can now participate in, God does not need our money, nor should we try to pay Him back (this would actually be an ungrateful insult). He gives us everything we have freely through His Son Jesus Christ for our enjoyment (1 Timothy 6v17), but surely we want to become increasingly generous like our Father and sow into what is meaningful & kind. Giving is an act of faith that cuts down self-reliance & selfishness and encourages love to flow in our lives.
